LUMINOUS LIGHTS // CLAS OHLSON

So Autumn is all around us at the moment and yee-haa for that! Because we all know what darker days and colder weather means.. that's right, it's the time for a good dose of indoor 'hygge' (cosiness). And who might be better at that than the Scandinavians..?

In the run up to the autumnal season I have been working on a collaboration with Clas Ohlson to showcase their newest (and very affordable) lighting range. Who ever said that gorgeous lighting has to come at a premium?!

Growing up in Norway, Clas Ohlson was always the go-to shop for hardware and DIY bits n' bobs (you have no idea how many hours I spent there with my tool & DIY crazy dad..) But hey, guess what? They've upped their game and are now offering an extensive range of quality homewares as well, at a very lovable price. And I must admit, I've completely fallen head over heels for their industrial lighting range.

Creating that cosy indoor environment relies a lot on the type of lighting you chose and I personally am quite a fan of freestanding lamps, rather than that swiss cheese of a ceiling bombarded with down lights. Composing little pockets of lit up individual environments around your home is also sure to get you that Scandinavian 'hygge' that seems to be on everyone's lips these days. So feast your eyes on my interpretation of a bit of this so-called 'Scandi-hygge' as I have explored ways of lighting up my London flat. Just add a side of chunky knitted socks and a big mug of coffee and you're all set for some proper 'hygge' as autumn sets in.
